About GarageVertical
Last updated November 4, 2026
GarageVertical is an independent editorial site about the measurement that decides most garage storage projects: the ceiling. We cover ceiling height, joist direction, load ratings, door-track clearance, and the wall systems that actually fit — before we recommend a product.
What we publish
- Low-ceiling and small-garage layouts with real dimensions.
- Overhead rack, wall rail, cabinet, and slatwall comparisons.
- Load limits, anchor types, and installation sequences.
- Cost estimates with the assumptions visible.
What we do not do
- We do not sell storage systems or installation services.
- We do not accept payment for a ranking or a review score.
- We do not present estimates as quotes. Ceilings and labor vary.
Who writes it
The byline is GarageVertical Editorial Team. We are a small research desk, not a contractor. Every article lists its sources, and every load or cost estimate shows its arithmetic. If a claim cannot be sourced, it is labelled as our estimate rather than stated as fact.

What we do not cover
We do not design custom carpentry, engineer a ceiling, or interpret local building code. Those tasks belong to a licensed contractor or structural professional. Our focus is the measurement and the system selection: what the framing can carry, which anchor matches the wall, and what fits above the car.
How the site is funded
Affiliate commissions from storage and cabinet merchants fund the research. There are no sponsored rankings or paid placements, and the fit calculator runs in the browser. Load ratings and installation instructions come from manufacturer documentation, not from a sales sheet.
